FM Marine

AISI 316

Also known as 'marine steel', AISI 316 stainless steel contains parts of chrome and nickel that make the steel even more resistant to rust, corrosion and acid or chlorine.

The corrosion resistance (stainlessness) of stainless steels is due to the formation of the so-called passive layer, a thin surface layer consisting of only a few atoms, which instantly reforms under the action of oxygen present in the air or water.

With AISI 316 available for FM Marine sinks and KF Marine cooker hobs, Foster offers a durable solution even for regions with a humid and particularly salty climate.

FM Marine

FM Marine is Foster's new proposal for sinks made of AISI 316 stainless steel.

Compared to the existing sinks in the FM series, FM Marine sinks stand out for being made of an ultra-high strength, top-quality steel that guarantees resistance to rust, corrosion, acids and chlorine, making it ideal for homes in regions with salty climate.

FM Marine sinks are available with one or two bowls and drainer, or with a single bowl.

With a depth of 19 cm and a choice of numerous accessories, FM Marine sinks are even more practical to use. Indeed, regardless of the model chosen, Foster offers the following accessories:

HDPE chopping board
Pasta colander
Stainless steel basket
Stainless steel plate rack

Sink and mixer tap

The sinks are provided with one hole for the installation of the mixer, while on request it is possible to make a second hole, for example for the installation of the automatic waste-fitting or dispenser.

In combination with this line of sinks, Foster recommends the AISI 316 mixers Bert and Tube or Gamma 3 Vie.

Gamma 3 Vie is the AISI 316 satin finish mixer with double control and swivel spout.
Unlike the other models in the range, Gamma 3 Vie allows the delivery of hot/cold water and filtered water for food use. This is thanks to an independent third pipe that can be used in combination with any water conditioning system.

Installation and coupling with the hob

The installation foresees the sink protruding 8mm from the worktop.

This solution allows the FM Marine sink to be combined with the KF Marine hob.

The KF Marine 5-burner cooker hob is also made of AISI 316 and has the particularity of allowing installation in a narrow recess. In fact, the minimum required cut-out is 56*48 cm.

The hob is equipped with three cast iron grids with high heat capacity whose weight guarantees stability while improving safety.

The finish

The Foster brushed finish, obtained with brushes made of special vegetable fibres, makes the surface of these sinks and of the hob less porous and easier to clean, ensuring a lasting beautiful appearance.

To keep steel sinks and hobs clean and hygienic, a wash with warm soapy water or warm water and vinegar, then a thorough rinsing and drying with a cloth is generally sufficient.
